The immediate past Governor of Kwara State and Chairman, Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology, DR BUKOLA SARAKI has declared his support for President-elect,General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) on asset declaration by Nigeria politicians.
Saraki urged politicians, both elected and appointed to emulate General Buhari by declaring their assets and make transparency and accountability their watchword.
Saraki who stated this while speaking with journalists in Ilorin, said this would help restore the confidence of the citizenry in government.
The former governor of Kwara State lamented that “corruption has been one of the greatest challenges we face as a country in the last few years.”
Saraki who said he has always declared his assets before and after every political office since 2003, assured Nigerians that he will continue to do so, but more than ever Nigerians want and deserve more. “They want public officials to be committed to zero tolerance for corruption and show leadership by example by making sure they are not found wanting,”.
