Don’t allow Politicians to use you as thugs, Uwajumogu urges Okigwe youths

DON’T ALLOW POLITICIANS TO USE YOU AS THUGS, UWAJUMOGU APPEALS TO OKIGWE YOUTHS

As preparations for the 2015 general elections gathers momentum, youths from the Okigwe senatorial zone of the state have been charged to do away with politicians who would want to use them as political thugs to achieve their inordinate ambitions at the expense of their future.
The Speaker, Imo state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, who made this plea at an interactive session with relevant youth groups from the area, also advised them to participate actively in the upcoming electoral process, as according to him, “time has come for our people to take part in determining who governs us in the next four years, so as to guarantee our collective interest in the ongoing democratic process”
He enjoined them to look out for credible candidates and support those who understands their immediate needs and challenges, with a clear-cut realistic blueprint to alleviating them, maintaining that any mistake from them in choosing their respective representatives in the forthcoming polls would be regrettable in future, adding that Okigwe zone cannot afford to miss this golden opportunity to re-write their political history.
Rt. Hon. Uwajumogu however, urged the youths to engage themselves into meaningful ventures and shun acts like sponsored on-line media propaganda and other politically related violence, against their perceived political opponents, as he had in a different fora warned his supporters against employing any media sponsored attacks against his political opponents, adding that such act was inimical to the overall development of all the youths in the zone.
The Speaker also called on aspirants of different elective positions in the area to desist from mortgaging the brighter future of youths, whom he said, they had the opportunity to help and empower while they held different offices in the past, but failed because of their selfish plans to continue keeping them to achieve their inordinate ambitions, pointing out that it was time for the youths from the area to rise and take their destinies in their own hands.
He further assured them of his total resolve to continue the transformation of the critical areas of the zone if elected Senator in the February 14th general elections, while soliciting their support and cooperation to collectively achieve the age-long desire of ensuring that every youth of Okigwe extraction is empowered to realize his full potentials.
