Gov Okorocha Passes Vote Of No Confidence On Imo Speaker

imagesBy Imo Initiative

Imo governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has for the second time in two

months openly expressed displeasure with Imo Speaker’s style of
leadership.
This time, Governor Okorocha has absorbed one of the two Imo Speaker’s
aides who resigned in very controversial circumstances. Yesterday,
Okorocha confirmed the appointment of Hon. Chukwunonye Irouno as the
Special Assistant on Public Affairs. He was confirmed along seven
others. Chukwunonye Irouno resigned from the Speaker’s office in
February 2014 as the Senior Special Assistant on Protocols and Special
Events.
With Irouno’s appointment this time around, Okorocha has passed a Vote
of No Confidence on Rt. Hon Benjamin Uwajumogu for the second time.
The first time this vote of no confidence was passed on Uwajumogu was
when the Governor embarked on Local Government road assessment tours
in March 2014 and found out that the speaker and his aides were
involved in road contract scams. To show displeasure, he ordered for
the arrest and detention of Imo speaker aides involved in monumental
road contact scams.
