APGA Primaries: Chief Obiano wins with 817 Votes

Reports from the Women Development Centre in Awka venue of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Governorship Primaries for Anambra State indicates that Chief Willie Obiano, a former executive Director at Fidelity Bank has defeated other aspirants with 817 votes to emerge the party candidate for Anambra Governorship election slated for 16th of November 2013.

An indication that Chief Obiano would win emerged earlier in the day when one of the aspirants, Mr Obianwu stepped down for him clearing the stage for Chief Obiano.

Hon. Uche Ekwunife came a distance second with 150 votes, while Paul Odenigbo, a former Secretary to Governor Peter Obi’s government came third with 49 votes. Emmanuel Nwogbo and John Nwosu scored 22 and and 18 votes respectively, while John Emeka, a former Minister under Yaradua’s administration secured just one vote apparently by voting for himself. 33 votes were invalid.
