The wife of the Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly Chief Mrs.
Eileen Uwajumogu was yesterday 12th June 2013 Honoured as a Patron and
Superintendent of the WAI brigade – Was Against Indiscipline Brigade.
Speaking at the Occasion, the Imo State Director of National
Orientation Agency (NOA) Mr. Vitalis Ekeocha described Mrs. Uwajumogu
as a woman of substance who has contributed her quota towards the
eradication of Crimes and Prostitution among women across the state by
assisting them to be meaningfully engaged in genuine economic
activities. Mr. Ekeocha explained that the War Against Indiscipline
was launched on the 20th of March 1984 by the Buhari/Idiagbon regime
to curtail the societal ills of corruption, stealing and other
activities of indiscipline among Nigerians.
According to him, MAMSER – (Mass Mobilization, Social Justice and
Economic Recovery) came up in 1987 and usurped the functions of WAI.
Mr. Ekeocha further explained that the National Orientation Agency was
later formed to superintend the functions of MAMSER and WAI – He
described the WAI Brigade as a volunteer force whose members are
responsible citizens that frowns at corruption, cultism, Arm Robbery,
Indecent dressing etc.

In his speech, the WAI Brigade Commander Imo State chapter Comrade
Abia Friday described Mrs. Eileen Uwajumogu as a woman of honour and
integrity who has continued to assist the WAI brigade to fight crimes,
prostitution, corruption and cultism since its launch in the state in
August 2011. He further said that the Brigade have been partnering
with the Imo ENTRACO to sustain government policy on sanitation, road
obstruction etc and the monitoring of school in partnership with
ministry of Education. Comrade Abia Friday also explained that the WAI
Brigade is also in partnership with the Consumer Protection Council
(CPC), Imo State chapter to check adulteration of goods and services.

In her speech after the investiture and decoration as a superintendent
of WAI Brigade, Chief (Mrs.) Eileen Uwajumogu expressed profound
gratitude for the honour and pledged to continue to carry out the
responsibilities of inculcating in our youths and women the virtues
and qualities of patriotism, security of purpose, obeying rule of law,
obeying government policies, self determination and doggedness

Hear Mrs. Eileen Uwajumogu, “When the society is disciplined, policies
would be obeyed and supported. Conversely, when government brings
development down to the grassroots, the people will whole heartedly
support government policies and programmes”. Unquote.
She therefore called on all and sundry to continue to support Owelle
Rochas Okorocha’s leadership in the state, for its people oriented and
masses based policies and programmes.
Chief Mrs. Uwajumogu also thanked the management of the National
Orientation Agency Imo State chapter for their effort in galvanizing
the environment into a better society.
