President Jonathan sacks Gen. Azazi

President Goodluck Jonathan has sacked the National Security adviser General Patrick Owoeye Azazi, a tweet from presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati has said.

The President  has been under pressure to remove Mr Azazi a former Chief of Army and Defence Staff who recently accused the ruling PDP of being behind the radical islamic group, Boko Haram.

To replace Mr. Azazi, according to presidency sources, is Mr. Sambo Dasuki, a retired armoured colonel and one time ADC of General Ibrahim Babagida.

Also dropped according to Dr Abati is Bello Haliru, the Minister of Defence.
