Son of the late Afro Beat Musician Seun Kuti has vowed to continue the struggle for the economic emancipation of the Nigerian people. Seun made this known in a statement issued earlier today in Lagos. The full text of the statement is as follows:
I hereby restate that Goodluck Jonathan & his cohorts must listen 2 d voice of d people & go back 2 former price of N65, nothing higher is acceptable for the masses. Subsequently, government MUST cut wasteful spending by cutting all salaries & allowances of ALL officials by 75%. The Nigerian people cannot continue to suffer in d midst of plenty. Furthermore, d so-called cabal MUST be prosecuted & must face d full wrath of the law because NO NIGERIAN SHOULD BE ABOVE THE LAW! This agitation has gone beyond organised labor, Nigerians are speaking in one voice. Finally, I hereby restate my commitment to the struggle for the economic emancipation of the Nigerian people & will rally everyday against fuel subsidy removal until government bends 2 d people’s wishes.
