Anambra Court Sacks Metuh

The festering crisis in the Anambra State chapter of the Peoples
Democratic Party, [PDP] took a new dimension as an Anamabra High Court has restrained the national vice-chairman of the party, south east, Mr. Olisa Metu from parading himself as the PDP national vice chairman for the zone.

President Goodluck Jonathan had on Sunday night met with the factions from Anambra State chapter of the party at the Presidential Villa and constituted a trouble shooting team with the Imo state Governor, Ikedi Ohakim as chairman.

But giving a restraining order in a suit brought by two chieftains
of the party, Emeka Eze and Tim Egbuka, Justice Doc Amaechina of an Anambra High court on Monday declared that Olisa Metuh should stop contributing or interfering in the affairs of the south east zone, pending the determination of the suit.

But reacting to the judgment, Metuh told journalists in Abuja yesterday that he had not been served with any court order.
“I haven’t been served. I want to consult with my lawyers, the legal adviser of the party to find out the implication of this order in the light of a court judgment, a judgment delivered by a high court about nine months ago to the effect that the national vice chairman south-east was validly elected and that nobody and nothing should stop him from exercising his four year tenure and it should be uninterrupted.
“Now, I hear that there is a court injunction of a High Court. I will find out, if a High Court order can supersede another High Court judgment,’’ Metuh told journalists.
