Jonathan wants to run for one term -Tafida

President Goodluck Jonathan is planning to use only one term of
four years in office if elected in next year’s presidential elections.

The Director-General of the Jonathan/Sambo Campaign
Organization, Sen. Sarki Tafida, disclosed this on Friday at a press
conference in Abuja.

”The President wants to run for one term…Let us give him the four
years and see how he performs.” Tafida stated.
Sen. Tafida also debunked allegations that the presidency is using
the EFCC to harass governors who are not in support of Jonathan’s
ambition.

He expressed optimism that the president will win the PDP primaries
and eventually win the general elections, adding that he is the most
qualified having being a deputy governor, governor, vice president,
acting president and president.

Senator Sarki Tafida, a former senate leader, is on the leave of
absence as Nigerian ambassador to the United Kingdom to serve as
head of Jonathan campaign organization, he is from Kaduna state,
North West Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the president is expected to formally inform the nation
that he will be running today at a colorful ceremony slated for Eagles
square Abuja.

Though, he has broken silence on his ambition by declaring on
Wednesday via Facebook that he would stand for elections next
year.

He said “I Goodluck Ebele Jonathan by the grace of God hereby
offer myself and my services to the Nigerian people as a candidate
for the office of President in the forth coming 2011 elections.”
