Group endorses Oputa for Maryland state delegate

Nigerian –American Michael Oputa’s chances of becoming the next
Maryland state delegate, district 24 have received a big boost over
the weekend as a Prince George’s county group, Coalition for
Change, announced its support for his candidature during the
upcoming election.

Addressing reporters at the group’s headquarters in Largo, Maryland,

and Special Interest would no longer decide who represents the
people of PG County in Annapolis.

She stressed that the objective of the group is to put in place the right
leadership for 2010 for Prince Georges County and the state of
Maryland, this she said would give the voters the opportunity to hold
any elected official who fail to do their job accountable.

African examiner also gathered that the largest Hispanic group in the
United States CASA IN ACTION (Prince George’s branch) has
concluded plans to endorse Mr Michael Oputa at a rally.

Michael Oputa came into the limelight while serving in Maryland’s Gov.
Martin O’Malley transition team where he provided valuable expertise
in housing.

In an earlier interview with African Examiner, Oputa said “I am in this
race to bring stability to the economic decline, housing industry, and
to make people have access to the modification process… I am also
interested in revitalization of the community, providing good paying
job to communities in district 24”.
