AN Abuja High Court on Wednesday, reinstated the executive committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Abia State chapter, which was dissolved by the Dr Okwesilieze Nwodo-led leadership of the party last week, as part of the conditions given by the Abia State governor, Dr Theodore Orji, for his re-entry into the party.

A gubernatorial aspirant of the party, Mr Reagan Ufomba, had through his counsel, Paul Eshiemomoh, had dragged the party, Nwodo, the party National Vice Chairman (South-East), Olisa Metu and Chidi Okereke to the court asking it to order the defendants to maintain the staus quo pending the hearing and determination of the pending suit.

The court presided over by Justice P. Kekemeke, in the order, directed all the parties in the suit to maintain the status quo pending the hearing and determination of the suit before him.

According the judge “upon hearing the oral application of Eshiemomoh Paul counsel to the plaintiff/applicant praying this court for an order of the maintenance of the status quo in this suit it is hereby ordered that all the parties in this suit are hereby ordered to maintain the status quo pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.”

The suit was adjourned to August 16th for the hearing of both the preliminary objection and the motion on notice.
