An aggrieved Nigerian, Mr Eluma Asogwa has taken Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha to the cleaners over his role in the purported joining of APGA to form Nigeria’s latest mega party;APC. Below is a full text of Mr Asogwa’s comment he left on Thisday’s website:
Rochas Okorocha, since coming on board as Imo Governor, has made a mockery of leadership. He is too crude and unintelligent. While I am not against the formation of APC I must state here that Rochas should learn how to follow due process in all he does. We all know that Rochas is half literate but that is not a licence to trample upon due process. How he governs Imo is bizarre! He awards contracts with the word of mouth – without award letters. He moves around with a retinue of thugs that even Laurent Kabila never moved around with. He manufactures economic ideas that are very unorthodox. He has more than 500 special advisers and assistants. He wastes too much resources on media propaganda. In all, Rochas loves power – he even knows how to shoot himself into power, but he doesn’t know what to do with power. Governance is not what you learn without a sincere desire to learn.
Regarding APGA – APC merger, it is my candid view that there should be virile opposition that should be thrown up to check PDP’s excesses. In short, this merger is long overdue. But the way and manner Rochas is going about it is very unacceptable. You don’t unilaterally take your party’s name to a certain merger committee and claim that you are representing APGA. I understand that there is a division in the party. The best he should have done was to state that he was going into the merger with the Imo State faction of APGA because I understand that that is the only chapter of the party loyal to him. Rochas and the other half literate Annie Okonkwo cannot join a party in less than two years and expect to be calling all the shots in the party.
I am aware that he has been trying to drag Governor Obi into an open altercation with him but that is unarchievable. Two persons don’t go mad at the same time. Obi is too sophisticated to allow himself to be rubbished by a certain Rochas Okorocha. On two occasions he had sent his boys to attack and harass Obi’s aides but Obi has persevered. That is maturity.
Ndi Imo, I sympathize with you. Ohakim chastised you with whips and now Rochas is chastising you people with scorpions. Too bad! In all, I want to summarize by saying that ‘Ikiri ka onye oshi mma’. You may disagree with me but that is my personal opinion. Thank you”.
