CORRUPTION is our biggest problem in Nigeria. The fuel subsidy removed from the masses will eventually be embezzled by the corrupt politicians. Millions of our youth are ready to work but they are jobless.Agriculture alone can provide jobs for all unemployed people in this country and our economy will benefit substancially from the revenue that will acrue to the country from exportation of excess farm produce.DISCOVERY OF CRUDE OIL IS A CURSE RATHER THAN BLESSING TO NIGERIA.

  3. Amazing theories about why fuel subsidy should go! And interesting palliative measures – like the importation of 1,600 buses to ease transport strain! Even if IMF or the World Bank is insisting that we remove the subsidy, what about the proceeds of our crude oil exports? Why aren’t they insisting that the proceeds be accounted for? Why aren’t these agencies insisting that the Nigerian Government be deregulated? Hypocrisy of the highest order!!!

Anyway, if NLC does not even fight for the people, or if they lose steam, we are fully ready for the showdown.

Let them knock off corruption and do the right things, and I tell you, Nigerians would support the subsidy removal.

  8. It’s time we begin to face the reality that has dawned on us rather than chasing after charade.

Firstly, NLC is insisting on total shutdown of the system, but forgetting that there are people who get their daily bread by going out everyday. Moreover, several other groups are backing out of the strike action already saying it’s not realistic.

I sincerely think that the real issue on ground now is that of the Boko Haram. These people are giving a salient way forward but we are not seeing it. It was initially a political war, now a combination of religious and ethnic …

Let us wake up and see that division is the only solution to destroying this big monster. We have lost so many of us so far and how long are we going to wait for how many more before we begin to discuss disintegration?
STRIKE – not even a solution talkless of a permanent … but DIVISION.

  13. It’s a low down dirty shame that things had to deteriorate to this pathetic state before Nigerians could (Almost)wake-up and smell the coffee, now it’s reality check; barely 7months afters HIS HORRIFYING-LUCK DOPE-JONATHAN part election and part selection into the PRESIDENTIAL SEAT of NIGERIA, the nightmare you all sentimentally and blindly voted in as your President dawns on you all and now you CRY!!!You all failed to see the EMPTY and MINDLESS PUPPET this man was and now you’re made to pay for it,SERVES NIGERIANS right!!!They say a MAN falls, then picks himself back up again only to never down again.NIGERIA and NIGERIANS case is quite the opposite, HISTORY is a DISH best SERVED DIRTY and OVER and OVER again with NIGERIANS. We as NIGERIANS are CREATED GREAT and IMMENSELY BLESSED, in need of NO SHOULDER to lean on but rather should be the other way round as it is with the first 5OPEC countries. We live in FEAR of the inevitable whilst NIGHTMARE JONATHAN and HIS BAND of IMAGINARY CABAL but rather HIS PUPPETEERS feast off the sweat we brake and at the end they feed us crap, kick us in the face, spit at us and stick their foot up our asses and the IRONY of it all is that we still say “THANK YOU SIRS and MA’AMS” to them(TRULY SUFFERING and SMILING NIGERIANS WE ALL ARE, as SANG by the LEGENDARY FELA ANIKULAPO-KUTI),it’s a shame after all these years……
For GOD sakes,we put these people there, and our VOICES should be their command and not the other way round, let us as Nigerians rise up and do the BOLD, COURAGEOUS RIGHT THING for once in our LIVES with or without NLC,TUC etc before it’s too late. Take back what is rightfully ours if they will live up to their expectations and fufil their obligations to WE THE NIGERIAN PROPLE….
ILL-FATED LUCK JONATHAN said in one of his campaign ADS that ‘HE HAD NO SHOES, NO CLOTHES and the rest of the MUMBLE JUMBO’ and now he has a MANSION FULL of all those stuff but like the DIS-CONTEMPT GREEDY WICKED CROOK he is, he now wants to collect all our CLOTHES,SHOES including OUR BOXER SHORTS, don’t know about YOU, but am willing to FIGHT to KEEP ALL MINE ON OOOOO!!!
So I say it’s time we all rise up to the challenge, fight for what we want and believe in, even if we don’t do it for ourselves and the present, let’s do it for FUTURE GENERATIONS to come for they are the one of the CORE REASONS WHY WE LIVE. It’s best to FIGHT, be remembered and honoured as HEROES than be called COWARDS and FAILURES just like OUR SO CALLED LEADERS PAST TILL PRESENT HAVE BEEN…..Cos the way I see it they all failed us and thus failed themselves. So lets stopping praying to GOD to come fight our PHYSICAL BATTLE battle for us, cos this is no SPIRITUAL WARFARE, WE SEE THEM,WE KNOW THEM and they are not UNTOUCHABLE.Let’s us all come together in UNITY,LOVE and of a COMMON VOICE then PRAY to GOD to be our SHIELD and grant us VICTORY and then you’ll see how much HE LOVES US NIGERIANS for if HE didn’t HE would not have ABUNDANTLY BLESSED with all we have.So EVER thot of that?
So LETS PUT AN END TO THEIR VICIOUS CIRCLE of DEATH for all NIGERIANS where GOVERNMENT is RECYCLED and the WEALTH of this BLESSED and should be GREAT NATION is STOLEN FROM RIGHT UNDER OUR NOSES UNDER THE UMBRELLA of the SHAMELESS and CARELESS EVIL CORRUPTION they TRULY PRACTICE but you PEOPLE JUST call “CORRUPTION”.
So ARE YOU IN OR OUT of the FIGHT of OUR LIVES, a fight we can look back on and be PROUD OF, CELEBRATE and one that will go down in the BOOKS of TIME or CHICKEN OUT as USUAL and FOREVER PUMMEL INTO THE ENDLESS ABYSS of SUFFERING and NO RETURN created by MR BEASTLY JONATHAN & CO.
Finally, REALITY CHECK again; NIGERIA IS OURS, ABUNDANTLY BLESSED, INHABITED by OVER 158Million HARD WORKING, FRIENDLY and PEACE LOVING CITIZEN, WE and this NATION should be CELEBRATED amongst the BEST there are in the WORLD and NOT treated this way by OUR OWN PEOPLE who FALSELY call themselves our LEADERS……..
So I say again, LETS END the TYRANNY of these CABALS called BEASTLY JONATHAN & CO. and go down in HISTORY and be CELEBRATED with the GREATEST where the GOD we all SERVE still INTENDS for US ALL and THIS NATION TO BE but we ALL have to FIGHT FOR IT. HEAVEN ONLY HELPS THOSE WHO HELP THEMSELVES.But I still hate to say “I TOLD YO’LL SO:-(
I REFLECT on HISTORY to CREATE a FUTURE, I DON’T DO FIGURES COS WHY CRY OVER SPILT MILK, I DEAL WITH FACTS and DECK REALITY CHECKS to MODEL OUT CORRECTIONS. NIGERIANS have FALLEN too many times, they think we can’t RISE UP again but from OUR ACHING and TIRED BONES strengthened by GOD ALMIGHTY WE SHALL RISE FROM THE ASHES, FIGHT THEM and TAKE BACK WHAT is OURS for if THEY WILL NOT LISTEN and HEED to OUR VOICE which is the VOICE of GOD THEN THEY WILL TUMBLE, CRUMBLE and PERISH like PHARAOH and ALL WHO FOLLOWED IN HIS FOOTSTEPS TILL DATE HAVE.
I AM JUST SICK OF IT ALL, AREN’T YOU?

The pricing across board is quite instructive. I believe the leadership of this country is aware of this price list, but deliberately decided to ignore it. Thank God for our various media stations who have been rightly informing Nigerians, NTA has been feeding nigerians with false and misleading stories.

Nigerians, it is hightime we had a rethink and be more analytic in our choice of leaders. Many of us allowed ourselves to be beclouded by religiuos and ethnic sentiments, while others are going for peanuts to meet up their immediate needs, then suffer for 48 mths thereafter. We have to put a stop to this, now!! or never.

Please, let us all join the struggle against fuel subsidy removal.

    Thanks a lot

On fuel subsidy govt must revert to N65. before any dialogue. whether Labour or Tuc retreat we will not stop. Lagos alone can fight but I will encourage all nigerians to join in this protest. even if it last a year I am ready

  21. Immediately the removal of subsidy is successful, the people championing the removal will look to hook the presidency in on offence or the other and he will end up using the money saved from the subsidy removal to bribe his way out.
Again, the countries in Africa being used to compare with Nigeria in terms of petroleum prices are either small scale producers of oil or non-producers of oil. check out this website (http://www.lovemoney.com/news/cars-computers-and-sport/cars/12717/the-cheapest-petrol-in-the-world) to see the price of petrol in oil producing countries of the world. Besides, most of those countries had basic facilities in their countries and are not as corrupt.

  23. Where is the sincerity in the analysis made by the minister of petroleum (Dieziani) and that of labour (Nwogu) when comparing prices of petrol per litre with that of the neighboring countries?May be they forget to know that Nigeria is among the OPEC countries.Instead of mentioning Libya that is in Africa and a member of OPEC whose price per litre is N26.69, they went ahead mentioning names of developed countries like USA and UK whose minimum wage is N197,296 and 295,644 respectively and are not members of OPEC countries.Pls leave sentiment alone and let us forge ahead for the betterment of this nation

FYi most of the countries above nigeria have functioning refineries… Can we boast of any? Change will come but it is not an over night thing.. Sacrifices must be made. And if fuel subsidy removal is one then we should bear todays pains for tomorrows gains.

  29. There is nothing wrong in removing fuel subsidy the problem is that President Jonathan once again would squander the savings as he depleted our excess crude account.
The only way forward is to sustain this protest until western nations who depend on our oil start piling their own pressure on Jonathan to put the removal back.
